Implementation of Curriculum
The academy will infuse an environmental and technological theme. Infusion will continue as the school does, and the following are the goals for such infusion:
Expectation: By the 2008-2009 school year, 75% of all lesson plans used in core curriculum subjects of Language Arts, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies will involve an environmental/technological theme. At least 40% of all lesson plans in other courses will use such themes.
Expectation: by the 2009-2010school year, 80% of all lesson plans used in core curriculum subjects of Language Arts, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies will involve an environmental/technological theme. At least 45% of all lesson plans in other courses will use such themes.
Expectation: by the 2010-2011 school year, 85% of all lesson plans used in core curriculum subjects of Language Arts, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies will involve an environmental/technological theme. At least 50% of all lesson plans in other courses will use such themes.
Teacher Constructed Tests
Expectation: by the 2008-2009 school -ear, students will demonstrate their enthusiasm and interest in the curriculum by achieving an Avg. grade of 85 or better on a grade-appropriate teacher-constructed test of basic environmental and technological concepts and vocabulary.
Expectation: by the 2009-2010 school years, students will demonstrate their enthusiasm and interest in the curriculum by achieving an Avg. grade of 90% or better on a grade appropriate teacher-constructed test of basic environmental and technological concepts and vocabulary.
Expectation: by the 2010-2011 school years, students will demonstrate their enthusiasm and interest in the curriculum by achieving an Avg. grade of 95% or better on a grade appropriate teacher-constructed test of basic environmental and technological concepts and vocabulary.
